The character above is whoever you want him to be... and you can rearrange his limbs, head, and all his body parts to create as many new monsters as you like with the TOXIC MONSTER MAKER over on the revamped TOXIC WEBSITE.

I was recently commissioned to produce artwork for the Monster Maker and the online TOXIC JOKE MACHINE (also on the same website) and you can see the results by clicking on the links below. (Colours by Lorna Miller.) Have fun!

HAMMER HORROR!

stamp.jpg

I was recently invited to illustrate a First Day Cover for the upcoming Carry On and Hammer Horror range of British stamps. The stamp issue is available for collectors from Phil Stamp Covers, - a company run by Steve Oliver. Steve's cousin was the marvelous UK humour artist/writer Jack Oliver, who contributed First Day Covers himself until his untimely death last year.

As one of several guest artists, the job was a one-off but if you're interested in obtaining a copy of my First Day Cover ("A Classic Carry On") you can find details at the following website:

COMICS SHOW REUNITES SONIC CONTRIBUTORS

sonics.jpg

The BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL COMICS SHOW (October 12th-14th) was another welcome opportunity to meet the readers and fellow comics folk. Over 2,000 attendees this year, and amongst them four ex-SONIC THE COMIC contributors met up for the first time in several years.

WHAT COMBAT COLIN DID NEXT

combat.jpg
Copyright © Lew Stringer 1996

As readers of the final issue of Marvel UK's TRANSFORMERS may recall, back in 1990 COMBAT COLIN ended the strip with a bang, - caught in the blast of a nuclear explosion. Those who live by the sword...

But Colin didn't die. Years later in 1996 I continued the story in a self-published small press comic, the COMBAT COLIN SPECIAL. That is now log out of print but a reader has scanned in all of the pages onto his website (risking copyright infringement, but I'll let him off ;-)).

For those of you who missed THE RETURN OF COMBAT COLIN you can now read it online by clicking on the page above.

UPDATE: The BRISTOL COMIC EXPO went well. A few thousand people turned up, and although final figures have not been released yet, attendance was actually up from last year. I've uploaded a photo-review on my blog, so click on the photo below to see it:

BBC NEWS REPORT:
The BBC News website on cult tv/comics featured an item on one of my Suicidal Syd strips from Viz, as it featured a parody of Doctor Who fans. (The new series of Doctor Who will be on BBC One in the Spring).

CAUTION: THE INTERNET MAY CONTAIN NUTS:
On occasions over the past four years an anonymous internet troll has been faking my identity with variations of my e-mail address in order to post derogatory misinformation about me on some newsgroups. If that wasn't bad enough another loon accused me online of being a Satanist! If you're suspicious of any such postings, please do not reply to them and report them to me for investigation.
